Personal branding tips? What is that? Is that something I have to think about just being in Network Marketing or in having a blog? Yes, yes it  is.

Many people think Personal Branding is only for large companies or celebrities, but anyone and everyone can build a Personal Brand. It’s simply how we market ourselves to the public, and any Joe Schmoe can do it.

The largest difference is that these large companies and celebrities might have a great deal of more money to advertise or do their marketing, whereas average people most likely do not, but that doesn’t have to be the case. You can still have one….

We now have a more level playing field with Social Media and all of the options at our fingertips through the Internet. It’s a frenzy of activity!

Today I want to share some Personal Branding Tips with you so you can position and BRAND yourself for success!

PERSONAL BRANDING TIPS

Personal Branding Tips #1: Specify Goals – What are your reasons? What is your plan? If you don’t have any goals set and you’re simply doing it just because you think you’ll get rick quick and/or “other people are doing it”, but have no plan, you won’t get very far. You have to invest the time and resources to achieve a goal, and better yet, write this goal down!

Along with writing down a goal, you need to find your niche or the market you are entering. Figure out a specific arena you are interested in!

Personal Branding Tips #2: Build Your Presence/Brand – Now that you’ve got a goal and niche in mind, you need to start building your BRAND and building your PRESENCE online and on paper. Have business cards for your local market and start networking. Get to know people on a personal level, not just a business level where all you do is talk about what you do. Start a blog or website where you are branding YOU, so get a domain name with your name in it. You are not branding your Network Marketing company. You build credibility and trust by giving and providing VALUE. You will start to build once you start gaining trust and building relationships with people.

Personal Branding Tips #3: Develop your skills – As I’ve mentioned before, building a brand is going to take time, it’s not overnight. These personal branding tips will help to develop your skills and knowledge, and the only way you’re going to get this is through EDUCATION and LEARNING. If you never learn anything new or improve your education, how can you expect to grow or move forward?? I have some great education tools, one called the Better Web Builder, and it’s FREE to sign up for. Really fantastic!

Personal Branding Tips #4: Get Involved – You won’t get very far in personally branding yourself if you’re not out there doing things and communicating with others. Many people think you can just start up a blog and sit there waiting for something to happen. You need to communicate with others, respond to their comments, go to their blogs and leave comments, and share information although NOT just about your company. This is called PERSONAL BRANDING for a reason with emphasis on “PERSONAL”. You need to get to know people on a personal level as well and initially so start using Social Media to your advantage too by getting a Facebook page, Twitter, a YouTube account, Linked In, etc, but use it wisely. Look into leaving comments on highly read blogs so others can see you.

Offline you’ll want to look into networking groups, but again, don’t just start talking about your company. You can give them the gist of what you do, but start asking them what they do for fun or ask about their family. People start to trust you and enjoy speaking to you if you’re interested in them “as a person” not just a lead or prospect. Ask them how you can help refer people to them and their business to start a great rapport.

Personal Branding Tips #5: Write Guest Posts – When starting out this can be tricky, but if you begin to build relationships with others (and especially highly read blogs) you can start building rapport and experience, and then ask someone if you can write a guest post for them to be put on their blog. They may not accept, but perhaps down the road they will and that’s okay. This will give them a break on writing something, and it will give you additional exposure.

By using these Personal Branding Tips I hope it has helped get some ideas into your head, and over time they will pay off and help you grow your business and personal brand!

Many people aren’t sure of the direction they are headed or where to start when it comes to Network Marketing. I think we can all agree though that it is a great industry to be in, but you need to be taking the right steps in your Network Marketing business to make it work for you and have a successful future.

Are you taking the right steps to get you where you want to be in your Network Marketing Business?

This is the questions many, many people ask themselves, and usually after some time they are questioning it more and more. Eventually most Network Marketers quit, because they just aren’t following the right path for different reasons.

Let’s see if we can’t pin down this PATH you should be taking in Your Network Marketing Business:

1. Find and choose what you’re passionate about. If you choose a Network Marketing company find one that you really stand behind and LOVE what they have to offer. If you don’t care or don’t believe in their products or services, you won’t have the faith and dedication to succeed. You will soon quit, possibly feel like a failure or be unmotivated which will decrease your chances of success in the future.
2. COMMIT! After you have done step 1, you need to commit to doing it! If you haven’t committed right away you’ll just wander around aimlessly unsure if you’re doing the right thing and not stay on track. You need to commit to make things happen!
3. Get Involved in the company, their events, meetings, calls, etc. Getting involved will enhance your EXCITEMENT, your relationship with others, and most importantly YOUR LEARNING. Get involved too in the community if you can, because that will expand your network of possible customers or new business builders. Your Network Marketing Business needs to have involvement by YOU otherwise it will not move forward alone.
4. Educate Yourself!! This is so very important, and I just started to allude to it in step 3. By educating yourself you’re becoming more confident and more knowledgeable in what you’re doing and what you believe. Generally speaking, just being more educated in life will help you grow and personally develop into something spectacular. You’re opening your eyes to new things and new concepts, which helps bring new ideas!
5. Share and Communicate with others. This can be linked to those just in your business currently, but it should also be spread to those you are building relationships with. If you have a blog, and I hope that you do in your network marketing business, you should be sharing valuable information with your readers, and communicating with them. If you haven’t heard of the Better Web Builder yet, it is FREE to use so USE IT. It has everything you need in regards to training, resources, capture pages, etc. If you are networking, don’t worry so much about trying to prospect, but just simply sharing information with people on a personal level. Soon this will come back around and they’ll become customers or new partners in your business because you have earned their trust and friendship.
6. Treat this as a BUSINESS, not your hobby! You need to understand that this is YOUR BUSINESS, not something you do time to time. IF you think like a small business owner where you have REAL CUSTOMERS and make scheduled hours where you WORK, then you’ll be in the zone and take it much more seriously. If you feel it’s random and you aren’t committed to it and treat it like a hobby, then you’ll probably quit and you won’t grow as quickly or as SUCCESSFULLY as you’d like.

If you’re taking the right steps and following THE RIGHT PATH in your Network Marketing business, you will have success. I think the biggest underlying concept here is COMMITTING yourself to the path!!

If you have a blog set up, then you’re half way there, but don’t you need a blog action plan?

What are you going to write about? And after you write about something what do you do next?

Many people get their blogs, but then after they write a piece of content it just sits there, because they may be unaware of the steps they should take to start getting eyes in front of it. Everyone needs a blog action plan where they complete certain actions to get traffic to their blog and readers reading it.

What is the 6 Step Blog Action Plan?

So glad you asked….

After you have created content here’s what you should do:

1. Share your post with your Twitter followers, Facebook, and perhaps Linked In as well if you are involved in that and have some connections. Remember a 90/10 rule though where you should be offering value 90% of the time, and 10% of the time should only be for talking about your opportunity or selling your services/products.

2. Email your subscriber list for those who have opted in for your FREE gift or your Newsletter. You’ll need an auto-responder for that. I use Get Response, but Aweber is another service as well.

3. Spread the word on YouTube and other video sites by making a video promotion directing people back to your post. Most people choose to have a video within the post, but there are different ways to do things.

4. Send your post to your TRIBE so they can syndicate it for you. You should be commenting on other blogs and building relationships, and after you do so, you can ask them to help reciprocate and share your posts. They become your TRIBE. You can also become a member of certain sites where there are others who will help syndicate you and vice versa. Check out a FREE service that will help you build yourself, give you training, set you up for success…and it’s FREE…you can’t lose. It’s called Better Web Builder.

5. Submit your post to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Stumble Upon, Delicious, etc. It’s best when someone else can submit your posts for you, so ask your tribe, ask those you have built relationships with.

6. Engage with the blogging community! Respond to comments made on your blog, send out Thank You’s for Retweet messages on Twitter, comment back to those on FB, etc. I know these things can take time, so do what you can.

Having this Blog Action Plan will truly help you REAP THE BENEFITS on the back end! It will take some time, but before you know it, you’ll have this blogging plan down and it won’t take you much time at all. Then you’ll have more subscribers, more readers and inherently more exposure to grow your blog and business!

Here are some other friends and blogger’s sites who have certain niches you can look into, they have unlocked the secrets of network marketing:

3. Become the Expert – You don’t need to be an expert from Day 1. It takes time, and it’s a journey. LEARN from others, SHARE with others and gain respect. Educate yourself and become knowledgeable so you can teach things to other people. Soon, people will come to you for advice and want to do what you do.

4. Develop your own ONLINE Real Estate – Get a WordPress.org blog, NOT wordpress.com. Invest in a blog designer and/or a MENTOR to help you with set up, because it can be overwhelming. I can HELP you with a name or two….SO worth it!

5. Build Your Own List – You will need to build your own list in order to GROW YOUR BUSINESS and/or make money with Affiliate Marketing. This is imperative if you want to GROW. By having a list you are able to send out your posts and anything else you want to share with people. If you want to make extra money with Affiliate Marketing, you can refer people to a product or system and receive some income if they decide to purchase it. Check out Clickbank to get started with Affiliate Marketing or 3 of my favorites are:

a) Viradyne – It’s free, and the company pays you to simply change your Home Page on your computer.

b) Better Web Builder – It’s free, and it helps train you, gives you capture pages, helps build your business for FREE.

c) The Customer Advantage – It’s free, and is all about saving people money.

6. Video Marketing – What can I say? Video Marketing is a crucial way to get yourself out there. If you’re nervous about getting in front of a camera and simply talking, you can do video tutorials with PowerPoint slides, but try to get comfortable as best (and as quickly) as you can. It is the best way to attract people. You can also do text posts on your blog as well, but nothing beats video.

7. Get on Social Media! – That’s all there is to it! You must be on Social Media sites networking and building relationships with people. This does not mean you are requesting to be friends on Facebook and then simply spamming them with the company you are in. That’s not how it works, because they just won’t care and it is highly frowned upon. Social Media is about NETWORKING in a more personal way. At certain points you can share something that’s more related to your company, but not right away.

You’ll be amazed at the results when you change your mindset to “helping people” instead of “what can I get”? Your mindset is also very, very important when it comes to Network Marketing. It’s no secret that you want to be SUCCESSFUL so get out there and start applying these Secrets of Network Marketing!

The answer is a big, fat NO! So many people think they have to go out and buy MLM leads to grow their business, and it doesn’t get them very far until they want to give up. Buying MLM leads is very time consuming, frustrating and just doesn’t pan out.

So the question remains then….

How Can You Have Success In Your MLM Business?

How else do you get MLM leads and grow?

There are many different avenues on what exact methods you use to get there, but basically it comes down to YOU….not your opportunity, but YOU.

I assume you want LONG TERM results in your business correct? Well, simply buying a cold lead and them not knowing anything about you doesn’t sound too long term resulting in a relationship to me.

Most people are also bugging family and friends, and how long does that always last? AND, how comfortable is that? It’s also not a large list that is going to bring you long lasting income. Most family and friends don’t want to be bothered since they also have things going on, and then feel obligated to participate. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to make them feel like that. It also depends on people’s interest so you need to contact those who actually may be interested….not just anyone who breathes.

Seriously though…stop spending money on buying MLM leads, because I’m guessing you are banging your head against the wall.

Nobody wants want MLM failure, and this will help.

Sometimes it can get very overwhelming with everything you could be doing, but there are certain things you SHOULD be doing on a fairly consistent basis to HELP YOU SUCCEED and get results in MLM.

We all have time constraints, families, lives, etc so if we tried to DO IT ALL, we wouldn’t survive either mentally or physically. Just like with any job there are certain things you make time for and other things that can be additional when you do have time.
